    Immunoprecipitation (IP)
    Specificity
Precipitating polyclonal Rabbit antiSerum to Chicken IgG, heavy and light chains.
    Cross-Reactivity (Details)
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. The degree of crossreactivity depends in addition to the phylogenetic relationship also on the concentRation of the reactants and the sensitivity of the assay format. Cross-reactivity of this antiSerum has not been tested in detail, however in immunoelectrophoresis a reaction with pigeon IgG has been observed.
    Characteristics
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc and Fab subunits of the IgG molecule. It includes a certain degree of reactivity with other immunoglobulins via the common Fab portion. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in chicken serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG, as secondary antibody to precipitate the immunoglobulin in normal chicken serum, to prepare an immunoadsorbent for the production of Ig-free chicken serum, plasma or non- Ig preparations.
    Purification
Delipidated, heat inactivated, stable whole serum
    Sterility
    Heat-inactivated
    Immunogen
Purified normal IgG isolated from pooled chicken serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
  • Application Notes
In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μL or equivalent against 120 μL antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 μL antiserum in a 3 mm diameter centre well and 2 μL serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells
    Restrictions
    For Research Use only
  • Format
    Lyophilized
    Reconstitution
It is reconstituted by adding 1 mL sterile distilled water.Delipidated, heat inactivated lyophilized stable whole serum. No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. No foreign protein added. Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled rabbit serum. No foreign proteins added. It is reconstituted by adding 1 mL sterile distilled water.
    Buffer
Delipidated, heat inactivated lyophilized stable whole serum. No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. No foreign protein added. Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled rabbit serum.
    Preservative
    Without preservative
    Storage
    RT,4 °C,-20 °C
    Storage Comment
The lyophilized antiserum is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C, prolonged storage at or below -20°C. Working dilutions are prepared by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the product.
