- Background
- Prominin 2 belongs to the Prominin family of pentaspan membrane glycoproteins and so contains five transmembrane segments and two large glycosylated extracellular loops. Expression studies in CHO cells showed that prominin 2 was associated with plasma membrane protrusions similar to prominin 1. Prominin 2 is highly expressed in kidney, throughout the digestive tract and in other epithelial tissues.Synonyms: PROM-2, PROML2, Prominin 2
