Staining Procedure: This antibody can be used on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Prolonged fixation in buffered formalin can destroy the epitope. The antibody may be used at a dilution of 1:100-1:200 with AutoProbe III .It is recommended that this product be used on frozen tissue sections or specimens. The optimal conditions should be determined by the individual laboratory.

Background: This antiserum is prepared by hyper immunizing rabbit with highly purified human alpha-1fetoprotein (AFP), the antiserum is dilapidated and made specific by solid-phase absorption. The resulting antiserum is adjusted to standard titer with 0.02M Sodium Phosphate, 0.1M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.3 and 0.05% Sodium Azide.
