Specificity This Monoclonal antibody Clone H 13 recognizes a C3a-determinant (eg C3 alpha-chain) which is present also on native C3. H 13 allows discrimination of ubiquitous or nonspecifically bound native C3 from biologically active C3b fragment, C3b or C are negative with H 13.
Cross-Reactivity (Details) Species reactivity (tested):Human, Guinea Pig and Rabbit.

Antigen
Alternative Name Complement C3 (C3 Antibody Abstract)
Background The complement factor C3 consists of an alpha and a beta chain. C3 is a central factor in the complement cascade. It is central to the alternative pathway that leads to the C3 convertase C3bBb. The classical mannose binding lectin activation pathway leads to the C3 convertase C4b2a. These convertases cleave C3 resulting in C3a and C3b. Further degradation leads to the formation of the alpha chain products C3d, C3g and C3c. C3 is an acute phase protein that is produced by a wide range of tissues, including renal epithelial cells and hepatocytes.Synonyms: C3 and PZP-like alpha-2-macroglobulin domain-containing protein 1, CPAMD1, Complement component 3

Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections: 1: 10. Western Blot. ELISA. Detection of C3 deposits in tissue, cells, micro-organisms and immune complexes. Itshould be used with positive control anti-C3b (H11/H206). Non-activated, absorbed C3contains the C3a determinant, whereas activated C3 is negative with H 13
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
