Antigen
Alternative Name Interleukin-9 / IL9 (IL9 Antibody Abstract)
Background Interleukin 9 (IL9) is a cytokine preferentially produced by T helper type 2 lymphocytes and active on various cell types such as T and B lymphocytes, mast cells and haemopoietic progenitors, but no effect of this cytokine has been reported so far on mononuclear phagocytes. IL9 stimulates cell proliferation and prevents apoptosis. The IL9 receptor (IL 9R) belongs to the haemopoietic receptor superfamily and its signal transduction involves mainly the (JAK/STAT) pathway. Some studies have implicated IL9 as an important cytokine in a number of Th2 cytokine mediated pathologies, in particular asthma.Synonyms: IL-9, P40 cytokine, T-cell growth factor P40
Gene ID 16198
NCBI Accession NP_032399
UniProt P15247
Pathways JAK-STAT Signaling, TCR Signaling

Application Notes Neutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of mIL-9 (0.30 ng/mL),a concentration of 0.006-0.012 μg/mL of this antibody is required. ELISA: To detect mIL-9 by direct ELISA (using 100 l/well antibody solution) a concentration of atleast 0.5 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, inconjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2-0.4 ng/wellof recombinant mIL-9. Western Blot: To detect mIL-9 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of0.1-0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limitfor recombinant mIL-9 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
