- Background
- Centrin, also known as CETN1, is an EF-hand type Ca2+-binding protein. It is localized to the centrosome of interphase cells, and redistributes to the region of the spindle poles during mitosis, reflecting the dynamic behavior of the centrosome during the cell cycle. CETN1 plays an important role in the determination of centrosome position and segregation, and in the process of microtubule severing. Recombinant human CETN1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
