Beads and Resin

Particle- oder Bead based Assays work similar to ELISAs, they only use another surface where the antibody binds. Instead of immobilizing on microtierwells the surface of tiny round silica beads is used. This increase of surface allows to minimize the testvolume, few microlitre are sufficient. Additonally u can divide the beads in groups to analyse different substances at once (multiplex-arrays). Cross-linked polymers (resins) represent the solvents for solid-phase organic reaction like the synthesis of peptide chains.
