Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections) (IHC (p)), Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)

Clone

4H9
  • Specificity

This antibody is specific for corticotrophin releasing factor (CRF), a hormone found mainly in the hypothalamus that regulates the release of corticotrophin from the pituitary gland. The unique lysine residue (Lys-36) is likely to be involved in the antigenic determinant as lysine modification by CA blocks binding completely. Human serum, containing CRF-binding protein, also inhibits the binding of this antibody to CRF.Aff. Const.:10(e)-9 M with native and modified CRF

    Purification

    Affinity chromatography on Protein G

    Immunogen

Corticotrophin Releasing Factor conjugated to Bovine Serum Albumin.

    Isotype

    IgG1
  • Application Notes

Immunohistochemistry on Frozen sections. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin sections: 1/100 - 1/7000, Microwave pretreatment isrequired. Enzyme digestion with 0.1 % trypsin may also be necessary. ELISA: This antibody is suitable for use in a sandwich ELISA with clone 5D5 (BM356).
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    CRH (Corticotropin Releasing Hormone (CRH))

    Alternative Name

    Corticoliberin

    Background

CRF precursor is a 41-amino acid peptide derived from a 196-amino acid preprohormone. CRF is a neuroendocrine hormone secreted by the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus and is a key player in the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis. It is also synthesized in peripheral tissues, such as T lymphocytes and is highly expressed in the placenta. Neuronal CRF is important in a variety of diverse roles including, memory, depression, stress, kidney function, parturition, metabolism and feeding (to mention a few).Synonyms: CRF, CRH, Corticotropin-Releasing Factor, Corticotropin-Releasing Hormone
