Background
- PACAP receptor (pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide type 1 receptor) is a receptor for PACAP 27 and PACAP 38. It is a G protein coupled receptor (GPCR) that may regulate the release of adrenocorticotropin, luteinising hormone, growth hormone, prolactin, epinephrine, and catecholamine. PACAP receptor may play a role in spermatogenesis and sperm motility and also causes smooth muscle relaxation and secretion in the gastrointestinal tract.Synonyms: Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide
