Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections) (IHC (p)), Immunohistochemistry (Frozen Sections) (IHC (fro))
  • Specificity

This antibody reacts with human fibronectin in liver, tonsil, skin and kidney. Traces of contaminating antibodies have been removed by solid-phase absorption. Only the fibronectin arch was observed in crossed immunoelectrophoresis.

    Purification

    Purified immunoglobulin fraction

    Immunogen

Fibronectin isolated from a pool of normal human plasma
  • Application Notes

Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin sections: This antibody may be diluted to atiter of 1: 50-1: 250 in an ABC method. We suggest an incubation period of 30-60 minutes atroom temperature.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Background

Fibronectin is a glycoprotein present in a soluble dimeric form in plasma, and in a dimeric or multimeric form at the cell surface and in extracellular matrix. Fibronectin is involved in cell adhesion and migration processes including embryogenesis, wound healing, blood coagulation, host defense, and metastasis. They occur as dimers of two 250 kDa subunits. They have binding domains for bacterial proteins, collagens, heparin-like molecules and fibrin. Cellular fibronectin is widely distributed in the stroma of malignant tumours.Synonyms: CIG, Cold-insoluble globulin, FN1
