Background Exodus 2 is one of several CC cytokine genes clustered on the p arm of chromosome 9. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterised by two adjacent cysteines. Similar to other chemokines the protein encoded by this gene inhibits hemopoiesis and stimulates chemotaxis. This protein is chemotactic in vitro for thymocytes and activated T cells, but not for B cells, macrophages, or neutrophils. The cytokine encoded by this gene may also play a role in mediating homing of lymphocytes to secondary lymphoid organs. It is a high affinity functional ligand for chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7) that is expressed on T and B lymphocytes and a known receptor for another member of the cytokine family (small inducible cytokine A19).Synonyms: Beta chemokine exodus-2, C-C motif chemokine 21a, Scya21a, Small-inducible cytokine A21a, TCA-4, TCA4, Thymus-derived chemotactic agent 4

Application Notes ElisaDirect: To detect Mouse Exodus-2 by direct ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) aconcentration of 0.25-1.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonalantibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of atleast 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant Mouse Exodus-2. Sandwich: To detect Mouse Exodus-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibodysolution) a concentration of 0.25-1.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylatedpolyclonal antibody, in conjunction with Anti-Murine Exodus-2 (PP021P1 or PP021P2) as acapture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant MouseExodus-2. Western Blot: To detect mExodus-2 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at aconcentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/mL.
