Background
- The H22 antibody reacts with mouse interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma , but not mouse IFN-alpha , IFN-beta , IL-6, or human IFN-gamma. The H22 antibody was reported to inhibit the in vitro anti-viral, the class II MHC antigen-inducing and the macrophage-activating factor (MAF) activities of mouse IFN-gamma. Moreover, the IFN-gamma neutralizing capacity of has been reported in several in vivo model systems. The specific binding of I[125] -labeled recombinant mouse IFN-gamma to IFN-gamma receptor-positive cells is blocked by H22. Although the H22 antibody is reported to react with rat IFN-gamma , its reactivity with IFN-gamma from other species has not been tested.
