Background
Serine-threonine protein kinase (Atg4g02630) with molecular weight of 56 kDa and known as TAK-kinase was found in chloroplast thylakoid membranes (Snyders and Kohorn, 1999, JBC 274, 9137 – 9140, 2001, JBC 276, 32169 – 32176). It was initially suggested that TAK-kinases (TAK 1 – 3) could be involved in the phosphorylation of LHCII and photosystem II proteins.
