Specificity
- Recognizes both recombinant and native ovine granulocyte / macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), also known as Colony stimulating factor (CSF). GM-CSF is one of several cytokines that regulate the survival, growth and differentiation of hemopoietic cells. GM-CSF is secreted from a range of cells including macrophages, T-cells, endothelial cells and fibroblasts in response to antigen, LPS or mitogen stimulation. Clone 8D8 has been reported to neutralize the activity of both recombinant ovine and native GM-CSF. Prior to use in a functional assay, it is recommended to remove sodium azide.
