Specificity
- Recognizes 110/90 kDa antigen known as the alpha chain of the vitronectin receptor (VNR). Clone 23C6 reacts with osteoclasts, placenta, melanoma cell lines, some epithelia cells. It reacts weakly with platelets. Clone 23C6 recognises the intact complex formed between the CD51 and CD61 molecules (av and b3 integrins). This complex binds vitronectin at the RGD sequence and can also bind von Willebrand factor, fibrinogen, thrombospondin, fibronectin, osteopontin and collagen. Species Reactivity: Human and chicken. Does not cross react with porcine, lapine or bovine tissues.

Application Notes
- Flow Cytometry: Working dilution of 1:40 -1:80. Recommended second antibodies: FITC-conjugated F(ab')2 rabbit anti-mouse IgG Immunohistochemistry -Frozen sections: Working dilution of 1:50-1:100. Clone 23C6 shows no reactivity on fixed tissues. Immunoprecipitation The optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined by the researcher.
