Precaution of Use
- WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.

Background
-
Ankyrins are membrane adaptor molecules that play important roles in coupling integral membrane proteins to the spectrin-based cytoskeleton network.ANKLE1 (Ankyrin repeat and LEM domain containing 1) is a member of ankyrin repeat and LEM domain containing family. It is a potential single-pass membrane protein that contains ankyrin repeats and a Lem domain.Ankyrin repeats mediate protein-protein interactions and are among the most common structural motifs in known proteins. While the function of this protein is still under investigation, its gene locus has been associated with susceptibility to ovarian and breast cancer.
Synonyms: Ankyrin repeat and LEM domain containing 1, ANKRD41, Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 41, LEM3, LEMD6, LEM-domain containing protein 3 -
