    Specificity

Recognizes human CREB at 43kD. Species cross-reactivity: Broad species cross-reactivity expected due to conservation of immunogenic sequence.

    Predicted Reactivity

Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Orangutan, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Elephant, Panda, Dog, Bat, Horse, Rabbit, Pig (100%) Mouse, Hamster, Bovine, Opossum, Turkey, Chicken (95%) Rat, Xenopus (90%).

    Purification

    Protein A purified

    Immunogen

KLH-conjugated, synthetic peptide (C-SGAENQQSGDAAVTEAENQQ) corresponding to amino acids 5-24 of human CREB. The immunizing sequence is identical in pig, shares 19 of 20 residues with mouse and bovine and 18 of 20 residues with rat. Percent identity by BLAST analysis: Human, Gorilla, Orangutan, Gibbon, Monkey, Marmoset, Elephant, Panda, Dog, Bat, Horse, Rabbit, Pig (100%), Mouse, Hamster, Bovine, Opossum, Turkey, Chicken (95%), Rat, Xenopus (90%).

Type of Immunogen: Synthetic peptide - KLH conjugated

    Isotype

    IgG
  • Application Notes

    Approved: IP, WB

Usage: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Western Blot: 0.5-2 mg/mL detects CREB from a HeLa nuclear lysate. Representative blot from a previous lot: HeLa nuclear lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-CREB ( 0.5 μg/mL). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Positive Antigen Control: HeLa nuclear extract. Add 2.5 μL of 2- mercaptoethanol/100 μL of lysate and boil for 5 minutes to reduce the preparation. Load 20 μg of reduced lysate per lane for minigels. Immunoprecipitation: 5 mg (will immunoprecipitated CREB from 500 mg of HeLa nuclear extract).
