Background
- Phosphodiesterase 1C is a cAMP/cGMP dual-specific, calcium/calmodullin-dependent phosphodiesterase. PDE1C has been shown to affect vascular smooth muscle proliferation and atherosclerosis, insulin secretion regulation, spermatozoa development, and erectile dysfunction. At least five PDE1C isoforms have been reported, the expression of which are regulated in a tissue/cell-specific manner.Synonyms: 5'-cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase 1C, Calcium/calmodulin-dependent 3', Cam-PDE 1C, HCAM3, Phosphodiesterase 1C, Phosphodiesterase-1C calmodulin-dependent, hCam-3
