Specificity
- Recognizes human progesterone receptor (PgR), a member of the steroid family of nuclear receptors. PgR is found as a 94 kD protein (Form A) or a 120 kD protein (Form B). Binding of progesterone to its receptor results in a conformational change that allows dimerization and binding of the receptor to progesterone response elements and activated transcription. When bound to DNA, PgR can positively or negatively regulate gene transcription.
