  • Purpose

    Rabbit antibody to SUMO1

    Specificity

    Specific for SUMO 1.

    Cross-Reactivity

    Human, Marmoset, Mouse, Rat

    Cross-Reactivity (Details)

    Other species not yet tested.

    Purification

    IgG

    Immunogen

A synthetic peptide from mouse SUMO 1 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The antigen is homologous in human rat and marmoset.

    Isotype

    IgG
  • Application Notes

IHC WB. A concentration of 10-50,micro,g,ml is recommended. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

    Restrictions

    For Research Use only
  • Format

    Lyophilized

    Reconstitution

Reconstitute in 500 µl of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.

    Handling Advice

    Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

    Storage

    4 °C,-20 °C

    Storage Comment

Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

    Background

Function: Ubiquitin-like protein which can be covalently attached to target lysines as a monomer. Does not seem to be involved in protein degradation and may function as an antagonist of ubiquitin in the degradation process. Plays a role in a number of cellular processes such as nuclear transport DNA replication and repair mitosis and signal transduction. Involved in targeting RANGAP1 to the nuclear pore complex protein RANBP2. Covalent attachment to its substrates requires prior activation by the E1 complex SAE1-SAE2 and linkage to the E2 enzyme UBE2I and can be promoted by an E3 ligase such as PIAS1-4 RANBP2 or CBX4 Subcellular location: Nucleus. Cytoplasm Post-translational modification: Cleavage of precursor form by SENP1 or SENP2 is necessary for function.
