    Specificity

    The antibody detects endogenous level of LIMK1 only when phosphorylated at threonine 508.

    Purification

    The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography usingepitope-specific phosphopeptide. The antibody against non-phosphopeptide was removedby chromatography using non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site.

    Immunogen

    Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of pThr508 (R-Y-T (p) -V-V) derived from Human LIMK1. Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with synthetic phosphopeptide and KLH conjugates.

    Background

    Protein kinase which regulates actin filament dynamics. Phosphorylates and inactivates the actin binding/depolymerizing factor cofilin, thereby stabilizing the actin cytoskeleton. Isoform 3 has a dominant negative effect on actin cytoskeletal changes. May be involved in brain development.
