Podocalyxin-like protein (PODXL) is a transmembrane sialomucin that is similar instructure to the well-characterized L-selectin ligand CD34. PCLP has been shown previously to be expressed on the foot processes of podocytes in the kidney glomerulus as well as on vascular endothelium at some sites. PODXL also has a putative role as a diagnostic marker for a number of cancers including pancreatic ductal carcinomas and prostate cancer.Synonyms: GCTM-2 antigen, Hematopoietic Stem Cell Marker, PCLP, PCLP-1, PCLP1, Podocalyxin-like protein 1
