- Is specific to a 40 kD protein, which is identified as Thyroid transcription factor (TTF-1). TTF-1 is expressed in epithelial cells of the thyroid gland and lung. TTF- 1 stains primary lung adenocarcinoma and small cell carcinoma but does not stain colon and breast carcinoma.
