  • Application Notes

    Flow Cytometry Dilution: User Optimized

    Immunohistochemistry Dilution: User Optimized

Application Note: Anti-PhosphoTyrosine antibody is tested for use in ELISA, immunohistochemistry-P, IP, and western blotting assays.  The antibody reacts specifically with phosphotyrosine and shows minimal reactivity by ELISA and western blotting with proteins containing phosphothreonine or phosphoserine residues.  The antibody reacts with free phosphotyrosine, phosphotyrosine conjugated to carriers such as thyroglobulin or BSA, and detects the presence of phosphotyrosine in proteins of both unstimulated and stimulated cell lysates.  Although not tested, this antibody is likely functional in RIA and flow cytometry.

    Background

Background: Anti-PhosphoTyrosine detects phosphorylated Tyrosines. Tyrosine is one of the 22 amino acids that are used by cells to synthesize proteins. Tyrosine has a phenol group. It functions as a receiver of phosphate groups that are transferred by way of protein kinases. Phosphorylation of the hydroxyl group changes the activity of the target protein. Anti-PhosphoTyrosine Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Cell Signaling, Neuroscience, Immunology, Cancer research and Signal Transduction research.
