    Purpose

Folate Binding Protein Antibody Peroxidase Conjugated

    Cross-Reactivity (Details)

Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Folate Binding Protein [Bovine Milk].

    Characteristics

Synonyms: goat anti-Folate Binding Protein Antibody HRP Conjugation, Peroxidase Conjugated goat anti-Folate Binding Protein Antibody, Folate receptor alpha, FR-alpha, Folate receptor 1, Milk folate-binding protein, Folate-binding protein 1, FBP

    Purification

Anti-Folate Binding Protein is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above.

    Immunogen

Immunogen: Folate Binding Protein [Bovine Milk]

    Immunogen Type: Native Protein

    Isotype

    IgG
  • Application Notes

Application Note: Anti-Folate Binding Protein has been tested in western blot and is suitable to be assayed against 1.0 μg of Folate Binding Protein [Bovine Milk] in a standard capture ELISA using ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) code # ABTS-100 as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature.  A working dilution of 1:2,000 to 1:10,000 of the reconstitution concentration is suggested for this product.

    Western Blot Dilution: 1:500 - 1:1,000

    Immunoprecipitation Dilution: 1:100

    ELISA Dilution: 1:1,000 - 1:2,500

    Background

Background: Folate-binding protein (FBP) are proteins that bind folate, typically the folate receptors and reduced folate carrier. In cancer research it can be a marker for ovarian cancer. It can be measured to help in tumor classification to aid treatment. FBP is over-expressed (20-80 fold) in more than 90 % of ovarian and endometrial cancers, as well as 20-50 % of breast, lung, colorectal, and renal cell carcinomas. FBP has very limited tissue distribution and expression in non-malignant tissue, making it a good immunotherapy target.
