Application Note: Anti-Heat Shock Factor 1 Antibody has been tested for use in ELISA and western blot.  Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band of 57 kDa in size corresponding to HSF1 by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. Tested using positive control A431 Whole Cell Lysate p/n W09-000-361.

Background: Background: Anti-HSF1 Antibody was designed, produced, and validated as part of the Joy Cappel Young Investigator Award (JCYIA). Heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) is a highly conserved transcription factor that coordinates stress-induced transcription and directs versatile physiological processes in eukaryotes. Upon stress, HSF1 is the key transcriptional activator of chaperones, co-chaperones and ubiquitin, and also coordinates the expression of many transcriptional and translational regulators, signaling molecules and mitotic determinants.
