Specificity
- Recognizes gp120, an exterior envelope glycoprotein on the surface of the virus particle that acts as a receptor for CD4 and chemokine receptors on macrophages and T-lymphocytes. It does not react with human T cells, B cells, normal bovine serum or normal human serum. In western blotting a predominant gp120 band is observed.
