    Background
    Part of the innate immune response to infection is the production of type I IFNs (interferons). The murine Ifi200 family of proteins are activated by IFNs. IFI204 (Interferon-activable protein 204), or p204, is a regulator of bone production and the differentiation of macrophages and skeletal and cardiac muscle cells.
