Background
The developmental pluripotency associated 5 (Dppa5) protein is strongly expressed in primordial germ cells, and the expression is down-regulated during germ cell development. Dppa5 is specifically and differentially expressed in human cells that have pluripotency and can be used as a marker of pluripotent stem cells.
