Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF10 is most related to KGF/FGF7 and is expressed during the development and preferentially in adult lungs. It signals through the FGFR 2b.
