Specificity:

This antibody recognises CD31 (PECAM1) which is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and is expressed at various circulatng cells, such as neutrophils, monocytes, platelets as well as on endothelial cells. CD31 is a cell adhesion molecule and is involved in the leukocyte transendothelial migration during inflammation.

Application Notes original Clone: This antibody is recommended for the detection and identification of megakaryocytes and thrombocytes. It was used to analyse megakaryocytes in the fetal hepatoblastoma tissue samples (von Schweinitz et al., 1995).

Purification: Protein A affinity purified

Immunogen: This antibody was raised by immunising mice with human peripheral blood lymphocytes from a patient with high numbers of gamma-delta T cells.
