Background
Low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1B, LRP-1B, Low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-deleted in tumor, LRP-DITLRP1B is a putative tumor suppressor and a member of the low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor family. The LDL receptor family have roles related to clearance of extracellular ligand and are proposed to be involved in extracellular signal transduction. silencing and down-expression of LRP1B as been observed in renal cell carcinoma and thyroid cancer. Further Deletion of LRP1B has been associated with chemotherapy resistance in high-grade serous cancers.
