The Rabbit Polyclonal anti-Peroxiredoxin 5 antibody (ABIN7230770) specifically detects Peroxiredoxin 5 in WB and ELISA.
The antibody is reactive with Human, Mouse and Rat samples.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB 1:500-2000,ELISA 1:5000-20000

Background
Peroxiredoxin-5, mitochondrial, Alu corepressor 1, Antioxidant enzyme B166, AOEB166, Liver tissue 2D-page spot 71B, PLP, Peroxiredoxin V, Prx-V, Peroxisomal antioxidant enzyme, TPx type VI, Thioredoxin peroxidase PMP20PRDX5 gene encodes a member of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, which reduce hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides. The encoded protein may play an antioxidant protective role in different tissues under normal conditions and during inflammatory processes. This protein interacts with peroxisome receptor 1. The crystal structure of this protein in its reduced form has been resolved to 1. angstrom resolution. This gene uses alternate in-frame translation initiation sites to generate mitochondrial or peroxisomal/cytoplasmic forms. Three transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
