The Rabbit Polyclonal anti-PF4 antibody (ABIN7230600) specifically detects PF4 in WB, IHC and ELISA.
The antibody is reactive with Human and Rat samples.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB 1:500-2000,IHC 1:50-300,ELISA 1:2000-20000

Background
Platelet factor 4, PF-4, C-X-C motif chemokine 4, Iroplact, Oncostatin-APF-4 encodes a member of the CXC chemokine family. This chemokine is released from the alpha granules of activated platelets in the form of a homotetramer which has high affinity for heparin and is involved in platelet aggregation. PF-4is chemotactic for numerous other cell type and also functions as an inhibitor of hematopoiesis, angiogenesis and T-cell function. The protein also exhibits antimicrobial activity against Plasmodium falciparum. PF4 (Platelet Factor 4) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with PF4 include Erythromelalgia and Thrombocytopenia. Among its related pathways are Response to elevated platelet cytosolic Ca2+ and Akt Signaling.
