Serine/threonine-protein kinase Sgk2, Serum/glucocorticoid-regulated kinase 2SGK2 (SGK2, Serine/Threonine Kinase 2) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are FoxO signaling pathway and Transport of glucose and other sugars, bile salts and organic acids, metal ions and amine compounds. SGK2 encodes a serine/threonine protein kinase. Although SGK2 product is similar to serum- and glucocorticoid-induced protein kinase (SGK), this gene is not induced by serum or glucocorticoids. SGK2 is induced in response to signals that activate phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase, which is also true for SGK. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
