    pSer56

    Purpose

    Vimentin (phospho Ser56) Polyclonal Antibody

    Specificity

Phospho-Vimentin (S56) Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of Vimentin protein only when phosphorylated at S56.

    Purification

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen

    Immunogen

Synthesized peptide derived from human Vimentin Phospho-Ser56

    Isotype

    IgG
  • Application Notes

Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB (1:500-1:2000), IHC-P (1:100-1:300), ELISA (1:20000). Not yet tested in other applications.

    Background

Rabbit Anti-Vimentin (phospho Ser56) Polyclonal Antibody,VIM, Vimentin,VIM (vimentin) encodes a member of the intermediate filament family. Intermediate filamentents, along with microtubules and actin microfilaments, make up the cytoskeleton. The protein encoded by VIM is responsible for maintaining cell shape, integrity of the cytoplasm, and stabilizing cytoskeletal interactions. It is also involved in the immune response, and controls the transport of low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-derived cholesterol from a lysosome to the site of esterification. It functions as an organizer of a number of critical proteins involved in attachment, migration, and cell signaling. Mutations in VIM causes a dominant, pulverulent cataract.,Vimentin
