    Alternative Name

    ANKRD28/PITK

    Background

Background: ANKRD28/PITK is a regulatory subunit of protein phosphatase-1 (PP1) that targets the PP1 catalytic subunit to nuclear foci to dephosphorylate and modulate the transcriptional activity of heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein K (hnRNPK). ANKRD28/PITK has been shown to be phosphorylated and regulated by calcium/calmodulin-dependent kinase II-delta (CaMKIIdelta) and glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK3).
