Alternative Name
- CCAR1
-
Background
- Background: CCAR1 was identified as a perinuclear phosphoprotein that regulates apoptosis signals in response to chemotherapeutic agents. Induction of apoptosis by CCAR1 involves the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway and caspase-9 activation. CARP-1 has also been demonstrated as a suppressor of human breast cancer growth.
