    Background

Background: MSH6 is a component of the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) system that functions to recognize base-base mismatches and framshift mispairs. MSH6 forms a heterodimer with MSH2 and is also part of the BRCA1-associated genome surveillance complex (BASC). Mutations in MSH6 have been linked to endometrial carcinoma.
