    Background: AF4 is a member of the AF4/LAF4/FMR2 (ALF) family of transcription cofactors. It has been identified as part of a translocation [t(4:11)(q21,q23)] found in patients with acute leukemia involving MLL/HRX. AF4 functions as a cofactor of transcriptional elongation and chromatin remodeling.
