    E2F8 (E2F Transcription Factor 8 (E2F8))

    Alternative Name

    E2F8

    Background

Background: E2F8 along with E2F7, functions as an inhibitor of E2F-dependent transcription. E2F8 binds DNA independently of DP proteins through the E2 recognition site, 5'-TTTC[CG]CGC-3'. E2F8 appears to regulate a subset of E2F-dependent genes whose products are required for normal cell cycle progession [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) Q96AV8].
