  • Target

    EIF4E (Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4E (EIF4E))

    Alternative Name

    eIF4E

    Background

Background: eIF4E is a component of the EIF4F initiation complex (eIF4A, eIF4E, eIF4G) that is involved in the processes of mRNA cap recognition, poly (A) binding, and the recruitment of mRNA to the ribosome during protein synthesis. eIF4E plays a role in binding the 5'cap of the mRNA for translation initiation.
