    Alternative Name

    Septin 7

    Background

Background: Septin 7 is a filament-forming cytoskeletal GTPase. Septin 7 is required for normal organization of the actin cytoskeleton and progress through mitosis. Septin 7 is involved in cytokinesis and is required for normal association of CENPE with the kinetochore. It also plays a role in ciliogenesis and collective cell movement [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) Q16181].
