Background
- Background: CDC25a is a member of the CDC25 family of protein phosphatases. CDC25 is involved in promoting the G1 to S phase as well as the G2 to M phase transition of the cell cycle by removing inhibitory phosphates from tyrosine and threonine residues of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs). CDC25a is an oncogene and has been found to be overexpressed in a subset of human cancers.
