Alternative Name

Background
- Background: Activating transcription factor 2 (ATF2) is a leucine-zipper transcription factor that binds to the cAMP-responsive element (CRE). ATF2 is involved in regulating the expression of a variety of proteins that are important to oncogenesis. It is a substrate of the JNK/p38 and ATM/ATR protein kinases which regulate its transactivating activity in response to environmental signals.
