Centrosomal Protein of 131 kDa (CEP131)

    Alternative Name

    CEP131/AZ1

    Background

Background: CEP131/AZ1 was originally identified as a transcript that was increased in cells exposed to the demethylating agent, azacytidine. It was found to localize to the pre-acrosome region of spermatids and therefore thought to play a role in spermatogenesis. CEP131/AZ1 has also been identified as a component of the centrosome.
