Background
- Background: Lamina-associated polypeptide 1B (LAPB1) binds to A- and B-type lamins. It is a single-pass membrane protein that localizes to the inner membrane of the nucleus and may play a role in membrane attachment and the assembly of the nuclear lamina. LAPB1 is also called torsin-1A-interacting protein 1 (TOR1AIP1) due to its association with torsin, an ATPase of the AAA- (adenosine triphosphatases associated with diverse cellular activities) family of proteins.
