Purpose
- Anti-CRP [P03], Rabbit IgG, kappa
-
Specificity
- This antibody reacts with human C reactive protein, which is a pentameric protein found in blood plasma. It is an acute phase reactive protein of hepatic origin. It is an important defense molecule for the body and its plasma concentration increases sharply during tissue damage, inflammation and bacterial infection. It promotes agglutination, bacterial capsular swelling, phagocytosis and complement fixation through its calcium-dependent binding to phosphorylcholine. It can interact with DNA and histones and may scavenge nuclear material released from damaged circulating cells.

Application Notes
- Indirect ELISA was used for the primary screening of the hybridomas showing selective binding for human CRP. Spicy Root peroxidase labeled scFv P03 was used for the identification of natural CRP extracted from denatured and non-denatured blood in a western blot assay. This antibody in combination with P24 was also used in the double antibody sandwich detection of natural human CRP. The combination of P03 and P24 antibody was also used for the generation of time-resolved fluorescence immunoassay card for detection of C-reactive protein (CN105842440).
