    Purpose

    SREBP1 Antibody

    Cross-Reactivity (Details)

This affinity purified antibody is directed against human SREBP1.

    Purification

The antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification.

    Sterility

    Sterile filtered

    Immunogen

Anti-SREBP1 antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a N-terminal portion of human SREBP1 conjugated to Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH).

    Isotype

    IgG

    Comment

Anti-SREBP1 Antibody has been tested in ELISA and WB.  Expect reactivity with different human isoforms and a band at ~124.6, ~121.7, ~113.6, ~48.3kDa in western blot using appropriate tissue or lysates.  Positive control used: HeLa and A549 lysates in Western Blot.

    Storage

    -20 °C

    Storage Comment

Store vial at -20° C or below prior to opening. This vial contains a relatively low volume of reagent (25 μL). To minimize loss of volume dilute 1:10 by adding 225 μL of the buffer stated above directly to the vial. Recap, mix thoroughly and briefly centrifuge to collect the volume at the bottom of the vial. Use this intermediate dilution when calculating final dilutions as recommended below. Store the vial at -20°C or below after dilution. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.

    Background

Rabbit Anti-SREBP1 Antibody, Rabbit Anti-Sterol Regulatory Element Binding Transcription Factor 1 Antibody, Class D Basic Helix-Loop-Helix Protein 1, SREBP1, BHLHd1, Sterol Regulatory Element-Binding Transcription Factor 1, Sterol Regulatory Element-Binding Protein 1, SREBP-1, BHLHD1,SREBF1 (Sterol Regulatory Element Binding Transcription Factor 1) is a transcriptional activator required for lipid homeostasis. It regulates transcription of the LDL receptor gene as well as the fatty acid and to a lesser degree the cholesterol synthesis pathway. It binds to the sterol regulatory element 1 (SRE-1) (5-ATCACCCCAC-3), which is a motif that is found in the promoter of the low-density lipoprotein receptor gene and other genes involved in sterol biosynthesis. SREBP1 has dual sequence specificity binding to both an E-box motif (5-ATCACGTGA-3) and to SRE-1 (5-ATCACCCCAC-3). Anti-SREBP1 Antibody is useful for researchers interested in Fatty Liver Disease, Smith-Magenis Syndrome, Adipogenesis, DNA binding transcription factor activity and chromatin binding.
