Application
Clone
-
-
Purpose
- Anti-CD2 [OX-34], Rabbit IgG, kappa
-
Specificity
- OX-34 binds specifically to rat CD2. CD2 is type I membrane protein involved in triggering of T-cells (cytoplasmic domain is involved in signaling function) and is expressed on thymocytes, peripheral T cells, dendritic epidermal T cells, macrophages in the spleen, and NK cells.
-
Characteristics
-
Original Species of Ab: Mouse
Original Format of Ab: IgG2a
-
Purification
- Protein A affinity purified
-
Immunogen
- OX-34 was prepared by immunizing mice with T blasts prepared in mixed lymphocyte reactions with purified rat T helper cells against irradiated spleen.
-
Isotype
- IgG kappa
-
-
-
-
Application Notes
- Ox34 blocks CD48 binding to CD2 causing partial block of T cell activation, OX34 can be used to deplete peripheral T cells (used to prevent allograft rejection in vivo).
-
Comment
-
This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG2a format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
